Historic buildings, such as the old town hall, drug store, and feed mill are now home to great shops — home décor, clothing and jewelry boutiques, souvenirs, confectioneries, olive oils, galleries and books. There’s also a health food store and gourmet grocery store.
Supper clubs, pubs, and restaurants serve homemade barbeque, steak and seafood, Italian, French, Spanish tapas and more. There is an artisan cheese shop and microbrewery.
Birch Creek Music and Performance Center is a summer music school for young musicians. Students are taught by nationally known performers and educators — and perform alongside them in evening concerts.
EGG HARBOR MARINA
Egg Harbor Marina offers the best deep-water sailing access on the peninsula. Fish from a boat or from the 800+ foot long walkway. It’s a great public beach.
ALPINE RESORT & GOLFBuilt by brothers John and Paul Bertschinger in 1921, this resort has been a Door County tradition for over 80 years. Its original Alpine inspired architecture and design which is still evident today. The lodge sits on the shoreline and offers sweeping views of the bay.
DOOR COUNTY WINE FESTLove wine? Door County Wine Trail, a local group of 8 wineries, and the Egg Harbor Business Association, have created a terrific new event for 2016 – the Door County Wine Fest – debuting on Saturday, June 25. More than 80 wines for tasting, fine food and cheeses, live music, and food demos by Wisconsin Foodie Host Kyle Cherek and others.
