STURGEON BAY, WI (December 22, 2015) – If you pop the question over the Christmas Holiday as so many couples do, you'll find everything you need for that Big Day at "Another Slice of Fire & Ice" the 1st annual Door County Wedding Expo on Friday and Saturday, February 12–13 at the Lodge at Leathem Smith.
Annual Door County Wedding Expo Planned at the Lodge at Leathem Smith
The event will feature workshops, live entertainment, gifts, samples, door prizes as well as representatives and displays from 75 local Door County wedding venues and vendors. Meet and coordinate your special day with the area's finest event planners, bakers, caterers, florists, officiants, photographers, videographers, DJs and entertainers at the expo.
On Friday, February 12, wedding vendors will be exhibiting in the Leathem Smith Event Center beginning at 5 pm. At 8 pm attendees are invited to enjoy a Signature Wedding Drink demonstration by Lodge owner and Culinary Institute of America graduate Paul Meleen that will feature a cascading river of fire, just one of several wedding cocktail highlights on tap.
At 9 pm, guests and vendors are invited to socialize around the Event Center Bar as Lee Birchfield takes to the stage in... Elvis Live!
Lee recently moved to Door County from Washington State. In 1995, at the young age of 15, he began a musical career playing Elvis at local Elks, Eagle, and Moose Lodges. By 2011 he had won the city of San Diego's Elvis Championship, sending him on to compete in Memphis, home of Graceland. There, he accomplished one of the highlights sought after by anyone performing in the 'Elvis world.' He placed 17th in the Ultimate Elvis World Championships.
"We don't plan to have a Drive Thru Wedding Chapel this year," says event organizer Alisa Landman, "but we can guarantee that what happens at The Lodge stays at The Lodge."
On Saturday, wedding vendors will be exhibiting in the Event Center from 9 am–3 pm with opportunities to learn from the experts at a series of informative presentations. Hourly workshop presentations are scheduled for Saturday morning. They'll cover topics like How-to Host a Green Wedding, from down-on-the-farm sites to formal affairs; The Off-season Advantages of Hosting a Winter Wedding in Door County; Nothing says "Wisconsin" like Cheese and more.
Raffles, door prizes, samples and surprises all day... including a Grand Prize drawing at 3pm for a Champagne Dinner for Two at the Lodge at Leathem Smith, a $150 value! Attendee admission is free upon registration, available online or at the door. Register in advance and find out more at DoorCountyWeddingExpo.com.
