Demos, Speakers and Live Entertainment at "Another Slice of Fire & Ice" Wedding Expo
STURGEON BAY, WI (January 25, 2016) – Door County's Winter Wedding Expo at The Lodge at Leathem Smith on Fire & Ice weekend will feature two days of fun, prizes, informative presentations and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday, Feb 12-13.
When Lee Birchfield placed second in the Elvis competition at the Oneida Casino a year ago, he didn't realize he was about to leave Washington state and relocate his musical career to Wisconsin. After placing 17th in the previous year's Elvis World Championships in Memphis, Lee wanted another chance to win top honors. In order to return to Memphis, he needed to win first place in another major city. Having previously won in San Diego, he picked Green Bay, but unfortunately, he just missed the mark.
Lee ended up with a 30-day booking in the Fox River Valley and then he says, "I did my homework. I found that Wisconsin has more bars than any state in the Union." So, he decided to stick around, recently settling here in Sturgeon Bay.
Lee Birchfield as Elvis Live! will kick off the city's Fire & Ice weekend with a 9pm performance following the opening session of the Wedding Expo which runs from 5–9pm on Friday, February 12. Paul Meleen, owner of the Lodge at Leathem Smith and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America will light the way with a Fire & Ice flaming wedding cocktail demonstration beginning at 8pm.
At 1:30pm, wedding guitarist George Sawyn will take the stage in the Expo hall to play a mix of classical, jazz and some of his original compositions. Following his performance, will be a drawing for the Grand Prize, a Champagne Dinner for Two at The Lodge at Leathem Smith, a $150 value.
Attendance at any and all of the Door County Wedding Expo events is free. But you are encouraged to register online or at the door for a vendor's goodie bag and a chance to win the Grand Prize. Find out more and register online at DoorCountyWeddingExpo.com.
