July 2016 News from Oscar's Rubber Stamps & Scrapbooking

As a longtime person of the inky fields of Rubber Stamping and Paper Arts (almost three decades!) I have experienced a myriad of trends brought to the surface in our world of art and craft. In the early 1990’s when the art of rubber stamping made its way into the Midwest and wrapped itself around us here in Wisconsin, I was confronted with this question: “Is rubberstamping just a fad”? At the time, and after much thought given to this question, I answered “No, I don’t think we are experiencing a “fad”. This is a form of art that most everyone can participate in and be successful.” Low and behold….27+ years later, the world of ink, rubber stamps and paper arts continues to look bigger and brighter than ever!  With this fact established, we invite you to hop on board and check to see what is on the horizon at Door County Rubber Stamps this summer/fall!

One Stop Shopping

This past winter found us consolidating our two store locations into one – at our great Sturgeon Bay location. 24 years in this colorful building – and the floors haven’t caved in yet!  We managed to squeeze and tuck and pry and wedge until we filled every room from floor to ceiling with wonderful stamps, papers, and art supplies of every nature. The selection has never been better! We invite you and your friends to stop by and check out the amazing selections that will send you into orbit. And, while you are here, check out the gardens and the incredible garden art displayed on the porch and in the gardens. (We have the ‘husband chair’ set up on the front porch so that your man will be comfortable while you ‘go crazy’ inside the art cave).

Summer Fun
Join us at the beach and outdoors with our Door County Kids and Wee Ones – these rubber stamp designs, all created by Artist, Julie Young of Neenah, WI and made right here in our Sturgeon Bay store, are just waiting to go home with you to be inked and turned into wonderful cards and artwork for your home. The carefree and whimsical characters remind us of our younger years when life was much more carefree and held an invitation to explore nature and the out of doors at any given moment.  These designs always take us back to our childhood and tickle our fancy!

Christmas in July
There’s no better time than now to get started on designing your Christmas Cards for this year – the selection of stamp images, stencils and die cuts will never be better than they are now with our 2016 Memory & Poppy Die Cuts, Dreamweaver Stencils, Exciting Holiday Papers and the all new Northwoods Rubber Stamp designs – they are all on their way and coming through our front door.  Follow our Facebook page for updates and new images introduced daily.
