EGG HARBOR, WI (July 19, 2016) – Woodwalk concert series loves showing off its local superstars, so July 22 at 7pm we are proud to welcome Katie Dahl. Originally this show was going to be Eric Lewis and Katie Dahl, but due difficult events Eric will not be able to make it.
You have heard Katie Dahl doing her amazing shows about the county, but now is your chance to hear her in the beautiful listening setting of magical Woodwalk Gallery. She will be joined by Rich Higdon on stand up bass, washboard and spoons. Watch for a possible surprise guest. Katie and Jeanne Kuhns have promised to sing a couple of Dylan songs also!
If you aren’t from around here and don’t know Katie Dahl, she is a Wisconsin singer-songwriter who has performed her original songs everywhere from the dusty cliff country of Mali, West Africa, to the winding canals of southern France, to the cedar forests of the American northwoods.
The depth and power of Dahl's alto voice, the literate candor of her original songs, and the easy humor of her live performances have earned her the chance to share stages with some of America's most respected songwriters, including Julie Gold and Dar Williams. In 2010, she was named Big Top Chautauqua Songwriter of the Year. 2012 saw not only the release of Dahl's second studio album, Leaky Boats and Paper Birds, but also the world premiere production of her original musical Victory Farm. Last summer, Katie was named to the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's prestigious Emerging Artists Showcase.
On her latest CD “Ordinary Band” Dahl examines the ways in which her life intersects with her “ordinary band” of friends, family, and compatriots. From stones to diamonds, betrayal to true love, Lake Michigan to the Jordan River, Dahl tells the story of her everyday life with a sharp eye and a compassionate heart. Don’t miss Katie Dahl at Woodwalk Concert Series this Friday.
