SISTER BAY, WI (September 29, 2016) — In a town with a reputation for great food, Fall Festers will have plenty to eat and drink as businesses and non-profits offer up the best festival fare on the peninsula. Bowlers can try to throw a spare at pumpkin bowling, and arts and crafts enthusiasts will have plenty to keep them busy at Arts & Crafts Avenue on Mill Road where one hundred vendors will strut their stuff. The 71st annual Sister Bay Fall Fest is October 14, 15 and 16, 2016 throughout the Village of Sister Bay in beautiful northern Door County.

Year 71 of Sister Bay’s Fall Fest marks the first 50/50 raffle in the festival’s storied history. Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20, and the drawing will be held on Sunday, October 16 at 2pm on the corner of Hwy 42 & Mill Road. Prior to the festival, tickets can be purchased at Bhirdo’s Shell, Husby’s, and the Old Schoolhouse Information Center beginning October 1 and throughout the festival grounds during the three-day event. With thousands of people participating, imagine the payout. You don’t have to be present to win but it sure would be fun if you were!

This “Granddaddy” of all Door County festivals boasts the biggest and best parade of the year on the peninsula Saturday morning at 11am, a 3-day juried arts and crafts festival with vendors who only sell arts and crafts they make themselves, mouth-pleasing food and beverages sold by Door County non-profit groups and Sister Bay businesses, activities for kids of all ages, and live music throughout town. The grand finale of the weekend is on Sunday at 2pm with the announcement of the 50/50 raffle winner.

Food and drink sales begin at 10am Friday and Sunday; 9am Saturday before Highway 42 is closed for the parade, which begins at 11am. If you’re 21 or older, beer and alcohol vendors will be requiring wristbands. So Wristband Up! at one of three wristband stations throughout the festival grounds. The Gibraltar School District Marching Band, Green Bay Preble High School Marching Band, and the Milwaukee Scottish Pipe Band will all provide rhythm and beats for the parade floats and participants. All Door County individuals, businesses and groups are invited to enter a float into the parade or dress up in costume and entertain the crowd. New in 2016 is a trophy for the best parade entry. As in years past, line-up is on Maple Dr. /County ZZ past the Sister Bay Bowl, and begins at 10am.

The Sister Bay Lions Club will host its annual Door County Fish Boil Friday night at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Station, and the Northern Door Kiwanis will flip as many pancakes as you can eat Saturday morning in the Village Hall.

Entertainment and games are available for kids of all ages with inflatable games, a bungee rock wall, camel rides and more.  On Saturday at Village Hall, families can witness the crazy antics of Dr. Cletus Beacker, MD and the Hillbilly Science Spectacular Comedy Show.  And Fall Fest wouldn’t be Fall Fest without live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday in 6 different venues throughout the festival grounds.

More details are available online at www.cometosisterbay.com, or grab the first annual Fall Fest Times when you get to town. Sister Bay Fall Festival is sponsored by the Sister Bay Advancement Association.
