Accompanied by some of the best musicians in Tennessee, Memphis flatpicker (and Door County favorite) Eric Lewis will take the stage at Door Community Auditorium (DCA) on Thursday, June 15 to release his new CD, “Before the Last Time.”
Memphis multi-instrumentalist Eric Lewis is arguably the most popular Tennessean on the Door County music scene, regularly packing houses on the peninsula (and across the country) with his red-hot guitar picking skills. Among other accolades, he has received the Premier Player Award for Strings from the Memphis chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. On June 15, Lewis will take to the DCA stage to officially release his CD “Before the Last Time,” a brand-new 12-song album.
The Memphis Flyer says, “Eric Lewis defies the old saying about the jack of all trades being master of none. Whether he’s picking mountain music with a string band, grinding out blues, or making the sacred steel squall and cry, ‘masterful’ is one of two adjectives that immediately spring to mind. ‘Authentic’ also works.”
Lewis will be joined by some of his most talented colleagues from Memphis and Nashville. Special guests will include Paul Taylor, Robby Turner (who’s played with Waylon Jennings and Chris Stapleton), Rory Hoffman (who’s played with Kathy Mattea and Kacey Musgraves), and Leroy and Charles Hodges (who have accompanied Al Green, Ann Peebles, and Robert Cray).
Eric Lewis’s concert is made possible with support from major sponsor Main Street Market.
Eric Lewis will perform at DCA at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15. Tickets for the concert range from $20 to $32. Advance reservations are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12:00-5:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
