SUMMARY:Bastille Day Celebration: Join the party at each concert!
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by Beverly Ann & Peter Conroy \nJoin us to celebrate French independence. Each of our three works represents a different vision of France. D’Indy brings us a French postcard painted by harp\, flute\, and strings. Bordes uses flute (played by Heather Zinninger) and strings to transport us to the Basque region\, and Claude Debussy enchants us with an impressionistic vision strait from the Louvre with his evocative String Quartet.\nADDITION to July 11\, 13\, and 14 descriptions: Optional “Bastille Day Pairing Concert” – A tasting of three wines will be interpolated in the program. Sommelier Jay Hutchinson will offer verbal commentary on the wines\, explaining why they were selected and drawing connections to the music. Wines might be paired based on shared historical\, cultural\, regional\, or geographic connections\, or interpretive connections based on the style\, tone\, or timbre of a given composer or composition. For example\, the Bastille Day program invites an all-French wine list; The program would open with Champagne or Crémant de Bourgogne served as the audience finds their seats and enjoyed alongside d’Indy’s Suite des parties. An additional $20 for anyone participating in the wine pairing experience.
