Community Seed Swap & Potluck

April 5, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Kress Pavilion, Egg Harbor

A “seed swap” and community potluck takes place April 5, starting at 6 p.m., at the new Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church Street, Egg Harbor, sponsored by Door County Thrive. This event also partners with the Village of Egg Harbor’s Green Tier Charter. The idea of a seed swap started in the minds of members of this fledgling volunteer organization that, according to its mission statement, empowers people “through skill-sharing and networking to build an abundance of useful skills within our peninsula.”

“If you are trading seeds, please bring seeds you know and love so you can add value and information about the seeds to those you are trading and sharing with,” says Sarah Try, one of the event organizers. “Whether you’re just getting started on your very first garden or are a seasoned gardener or farmer, you will walk away with new knowledge, contacts and inspiration as we head into the 2018 growing season!”

The event is open to families, gardeners, farmers, even to those who don’t have seeds to trade, but just happen to like the idea and want to find out more about Door County Thrive.  For more detailed information, visit doorcountythrive.org. Attendees are asked to bring a “dish to pass” along with your own plate and utensils for the potluck – the very first taking place in the Kress Pavilion.
