Door County, Wis. (February 2, 2026) – 100+ Women Who Care Door County (100+WWC) Giving Circle continued its philanthropic platform of providing financial support to nonprofits of Door County at its 31st quarterly Giving Event. After presenting information about their community work, three nonprofit organizations received awards on Monday, January 26, 2026.
The total monetary award granted at the Giving Event was approximately $35,000 from 420 members. Door County Master Gardeners Association was the recipient of the main award of approximately $17,500. Francis Hardy Gallery and Third Avenue PlayWorks received the secondary awards of approximately $8,750 each. Northern Door Children’s Center, expressed appreciation for the October 2024 award and reiterated all the important work of this Door County nonprofit.
Penne Wilson, President of Door County Master Gardeners Association (DCMGA) and new 100+WWC member, shared the DCMGA mission to support our community by sharing research-based gardening knowledge and practices, cultivating community collaborations, and inspiring change to promote healthy people, healthy communities, and a healthy planet. “DCMGA will use the 100+WWC grant to increase food security in Door County, to provide community grants to support local nonprofit gardening projects, to augment educational programming, and to provide scholarships for the Master Gardener training course.”
Jacob Janssen, Jackie & Steve Kane Artistic Director for Third Avenue PlayWorks (TAP), expressed his gratitude, “The 100+ WWC award will allow TAP to expand vital educational outreach over the next two years, bringing improv, poetry, and dramatic literature directly to seniors and children facing barriers to mobility and access. This support helps reduce isolation, spark creativity, and ensure the transformative power of theatre reaches every generation in Door County.”
Lisa LaDew, 100+WWC member and nominator for the Hardy Gallery, joined 100+WWC when she moved to Door County. “My hope was to meet new and interesting people after leaving family and friends in Massachusetts. I gained new friends and so much more – I have learned so much. I have become a volunteer at a couple of the nonprofits because of what I learned about them at 100+WWC! My small donation is leveraged into significant grants that help sustain the quality of life we all enjoy in Door County!”
Adam Fulwiler, Executive Director, The Hardy Gallery, shared “The Hardy Gallery nurtures local artistic talent, creates inclusive opportunities for art engagement and participation, provides educational programs for youth and adults, and enriches the cultural fabric of Ephraim and greater Door County. Thank You 100+WWC!”
The next scheduled 100+WWC Giving Event will be April 27 2026, at the Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion, Egg Harbor. The selected nonprofits presenting information and organizational goals include Crossroads at Big Creek, STRIDE, and Door County Therapy Dog Teams. These nonprofits were drawn from a hat populated with member-nominated, vetted, and qualified nonprofits. The nominating member and the nonprofit representative will present and answer questions prior to member voting.
