Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (February 16, 2021) – Volunteer ice carvers braved the chilly elements, Saturday, February 13, 2021. Carvers began chipping, sawing, and molding ice blocks throughout Sturgeon Bay at 9am. Unique and original “ice-terpieces” were formed out of 300-pound crystal clear ice blocks. The brave group of ice carvers took to the streets of Sturgeon Bay to create spectacular works of art, with the ice carvers competing for cash prizes. Judges walked the streets of Sturgeon Bay at 2pm to decide the winning sculptures in beginner and advanced categories.
Each skill level was awarded as follows:
Beginner:
3rd Place – Rio Martinez, Fish, sponsored by T. Simon Jewelers
2nd Place – Meghan Lampereur, Cana Island Lighthouse, sponsored by ERA Starr Realty
1st Place – Collin Richter, Gnome, sponsored by Door County Candy
Advanced:
3rd Place – Reynaldo Celmente, Peacock, sponsored by Westwood Shores Resort
2nd Place – Seth Wilson & John McCaulley, Steel Bridge, sponsored by Madison Avenue Market
1st Place – Scott Stettin, The Phoenix, sponsored by Stangel Accounting & Tax
