Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (March 8, 2022) – The Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay announces online advanced tickets are now on sale for the 29th Annual Shipyard Tour on Saturday, May 7, 2022. For one day each year, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding opens their doors to the public for tours of the shipbuilding industry.
To buy tickets in advance, visit DoorCountyTickets.com (‘29th Annual Sturgeon Bay Shipyard Tours’) or “Sturgeon Bay Rotary Shipyard Tours” on Facebook. Adult tickets are $20 in advance; Youth tickets for ages 11-17 are $7 each. Tours will stop at multiple points of interest and will take 90 minutes or less. Only 1,000 total tickets will be sold for available time slots at 9 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM,12 PM and 1:00 PM.
This tour requires a considerable amount of walking and standing on gravel surfaces – wear appropriate shoes. Parking is available at Bay Shipbuilding (605 N 3rd Ave, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54325), and at city lots around the area.
The Door County Maritime Museum & Lighthouse Preservation Society, will offer half off admission to all Shipyard Tour ticket holders on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, 2022. The Museum is filled with opportunities for maritime lovers to explore and learn about local shipbuilding history, and the recently dedicated Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower is a unique opportunity to view Sturgeon Bay from 110 feet above the water.
All Shipyard Tour ticket proceeds are directed toward Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay and the Rotary Youth Interact charitable projects, including support for human and community development, vocational and academic ‘Service Above Self” scholarships, the international exchange student program and Door County affordable housing projects.
