Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (January 22, 2025) – Celebrate the winter season during Sturgeon Bay’s community-wide Fire & Ice Festival presented by Destination Sturgeon Bay, February 14-15. The weekend begins on Friday, February 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm: enjoy a luminary-lit hike at Crossroads at Big Creek Nature Preserve or join The Yoga Womb for a relaxing partner yoga session. Saturday, stroll around town to witness novice and professional carvers turn blocks of ice into works of art beginning at 9 am! Destination Sturgeon Bay member businesses have sponsored 20 ice blocks this year. Carvers of all ages and skill levels will compete for cash prizes and the People’s Choice Award.
All sorts of other fun winter activities will be happening throughout Downtown Sturgeon Bay. Hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski, or simply explore on Saturday at Potawatomi State Park during Winter Trails Day presented by The Friends of Potawatomi State Park. Join the Friends in the warming shelter at the picnic area on the park’s south shoreline for refreshments and to warm up by the fire, 11 am to 1 pm.
Warm up at Bay Shore Outfitters with delicious hot chocolate and chili! Cherry Lanes Arcade Bar will be rocking live music by Tyler SJ, plus featured Fire & Ice drinks. Stop by Popelka Trenchard Gallery & Glass Studio from 12 pm to 2 pm for a free glass-blowing demonstration. Don’t miss the Indoor Winter Market at Third Avenue PlayWorks from 10 am to 2 pm for local finds. Catch live music by Glas Hamr at Kitty O’Reilly’s starting at 5 pm! And if you’re hungry, head to waterfront Mary’s Bar & Grill for a delicious Fish Boil at 5:30 pm – reservations are required!
Enjoy free Door County Trolley rides, 10 am to 3 pm, with stops at Door County Fire Company, Third Avenue PlayWorks, Cherry Lanes Arcade Bar, Bay Shore Outfitters, and T. Simon Jewelers. Wrap up the day at the Fire & Ice Gala, featuring a Roaring 20s theme, live music by F.B.I. & The Untouchable Horns and an exciting dinner and auction! Destination Sturgeon Bay is partnering with Handbid Online for an online silent auction featuring over 60 amazing, local products from businesses around Door County. The auction opens for bidding on Friday, February 7 at 12:00 pm and will close on Saturday, February 15 at 10:00 pm. All are welcome to participate!
