Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (July 5, 2021) – August 13-15 will be here before you know it! Bring your crew, friends and family for boating and fun on Sturgeon Bay’s historic working waterfront. On display during the Classic & Wooden Boat Festival are beautiful boats to admire, some professionally built and maintained, others the work of talented amateurs. Vessels range from canoes to kayaks, sailboats, fiberglass classics, and glorious mahogany runabouts.
Registered boaters showcase their boats for the weekend and compete for awards and ribbons. Boats are displayed on the Maritime Museum grounds, along the waterfront and the lawn. The Festival also includes the hilarious and competitive Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Challenge. Watch as 2-person teams work feverishly with limited materials on Saturday to craft a one-of-a-kind boat that will float during the “sea trials” on Sunday…hopefully!
Festival hours are 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday. Shop the Boathouse Sale and Nautical Market, learn from U.S. Coast Guard demonstrations, watch plein air artists create, view beautiful boats and enjoy tasty food and drinks! The Classic & Wooden Boat Festival is a great time for all ages on Sturgeon Bay’s west waterfront.
