Ephraim, Wis. (December 9, 2020) – Many of us are eagerly awaiting to bid farewell to 2020. With the anticipation of the coming new year, the 4th annual Cherry Drop™ was expected to once again draw a large crowd in downtown Sister Bay. Due to the nature of the event and following measures to keep community exposure of COVID-19 at a minimum, fm 106.9 the Lodge has decided to cancel the midnight countdown and drop of the roughly six-foot, 300-pound cherry that would usually take place on the hill in Sister Bay.
In keeping in the spirit of the event, revelers can celebrate with the Greatest Party Tunes of All Time as usual starting New Year’s Eve at 8:00PM, on fm 106.9 on-air and online. Partiers can join in the live midnight countdown virtually on Facebook.
“We’re still going to celebrate New Year’s Eve with everyone, just in a slightly different gathering,” said Mike Mesic, station owner.
The village of Sister Bay warmly welcomes revelers to enjoy the holiday lights display, tunnel of lights, and local businesses safely. Details on the village activities the week prior to New Year’s Eve will be updated on the Sister Bay – Door County, Wisconsin Facebook page.
