87th Annual Sister Bay Ice Out Contest

Sister Bay, Wis. (February 14, 2025) – Get ready for the return of a beloved tradition: the 87th Annual Sister Bay Ice Out Contest! After last year’s warm temperatures prevented our iconic “Goat on a Boat” from floating on the bay, we’re thrilled to announce that he’s back, perched on the ice!

This year, we invite you to join the fun and guess the date and time when the ice will finally break and the Goat on a Boat will float free in Sister Bay!

Here’s how you can participate:

• Submit your guess(es) now at participating Sister Bay businesses (listed below).
• Submit as many guesses as you’d like. The more you submit, the better your chances to win incredible prizes while supporting our local businesses.
• Don’t forget to keep an eye on the bay for the moment the Goat on a Boat starts to drift away! We will contact the winners for each individual prize—as well as the grand prize winner—after the Goat floats!
