Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (December 8, 2025) — Heritage Village invites the community to settle in for an evening of classic storytelling as Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is brought to life through a genuine reading of the original text. This special program will take place in conjunction with the Door County Historical Society’s 3rd Annual Glimpse of Christmas Past and will begin immediately following the event’s tour hours.
“This is not an adaptation, but a genuine reading of Dickens’ original, brilliant text,” said producer Ross Dippel. “This is the fifth year we’ve brought this experience to our community, and this year we are delighted to welcome Freddie Witt on cello to enrich the classic feeling and deepen the connection to Dickens’ evocative poetry. What sets this experience apart is that it invites the listener to imagine the world created by Dickens’ timeless words.”
The reading will feature Carrie Counihan, Isabella Dippel, Ross Dippel, and Escher Wentz. Guests are encouraged to relax as they listen to Scrooge’s journey unfold, rekindling the spirit of generosity and connection that defines the season.
This free event takes place at 6:00 PM on Friday, December 12 and Friday, December 19 in the Vignes School at Heritage Village — immediately after Glimpse of Christmas Past concludes at 6:00 PM on those evenings. Audience members are invited to bring slippers and a nightcap for a cozy, nostalgic experience.
