Sister Bay, Wis. (March 18, 2022) – The Sister Bay Advancement Association is happy to announce that, after a 2-year hiatus, its “Roofing of the Goats Parade” is back and scheduled for Saturday, June 11th in downtown Sister Bay.
The Goat Parade starts at 11:00am at the corner of Mill Rd. and Highway 42 and moves south to Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant, where the goats will be led up to the restaurant’s iconic green sod roof.
“Goat Drop Stickers” will be available at booths in downtown Sister Bay for $10 each. The goat stickers are a fundraiser for Koinonia Kupboard, a local food pantry managed by First Baptist Church of Sister Bay. Entrants simply place their purchased goat stickers directly on the Highway 42 parade route…if a goat then poops on your sticker, you could win one of several big prizes. The prize drawing will occur immediately after the parade, at Stabbur Beer Garden at Al Johnson’s, where its Goat Fest event will feature live music, various beverages, special food dishes, a Swedish Pancake-Eating Contest, and a highly competitive “stein-holding” contest. There will be lots of kids’ activities including The Baron of Bubbles, a DIY craft project, Balloon Creations by Miss Vicki, and outdoor games.
