Sister Bay, Wis. (December 27, 2022) — On January 12 at 6pm, The Dörr Hotel in Sister Bay is proud to host an evening of storytelling with author Julie Lokun. She’ll be sharing snippets from the upcoming book she is writing which is inspired by her late-grandfathers memoirs. I Am John, is a gripping tale of a young man’s fight for freedom in war-torn eastern Europe. Lokun will talk about the power of our personal stories and the importance of leaving a legacy in an interactive discussion. In addition, you will learn the tips and tricks to successfully share your story, like writing a book, starting a podcast, or even journaling.
Julie Lokun, JD is the founder of The Mediacasters, which is one part publishing, one part podcasting, and one part public speaking. Julie is the author of 4 best-selling books, the host of 3 podcasts, and a business communications director. Julie is known for her keen ability to foster growth for creatives and entrepreneurs by accelerating their 10X dreams.
“We all have the opportunity to dig deep into our experiences and leave a mark on this earth by storytelling. ” states Lokun, “I am beyond excited to share my journey as an author, publisher, and podcaster and how to simplify the process. Storytelling can be easy and is definitely fun!”
The book, I Am John, is due out early summer of 2023 is a collaboration between Lokun, her father, George Drost, and famed author and editor Nicki Pascarella.
“When I was a little girl, I was always aware of my grandfather’s heroic story and the tragedies that befell him in his quest to save his family. With my dad’s urging, we are modernizing his story and ensuring his immortality with our words-it is a powerful process,” said Lokun.
Lokun will be doing a reading from the book, and sharing other notable author’s stories, like Rear Admiral Garry E. Hall, who served as the national security advisor to the President, whose book Navigating Leadership is due out this spring. In addition, Lokun will be discussing and answering questions about publishing and storytelling in various mediums.
