
Juddville, Wis. (August 1, 2024) – Write On, Door County is pleased to host publication celebrations for several authors who live in or have ties to Door County throughout the month of August. A former writer-in-residence at Write On, Constance Malloy will read from her hybrid work on Saturday, August 10. Door County residents Sally Collins and Judy DuCharme will read from their new books Tuesday, August 13, and Tuesday, August 27 respectively. All readings are free and open to the public and will be held on at Write On, 4210 Juddville Rd., Fish Creek.
Set by the banks of the Menominee River and the shores of Lake Michigan and Green Bay, Constance Malloy’s hybrid novella, Born of Water, explores the consequences of changing climates, both internal and external. Malloy will read from and discuss her book on Saturday, August 10, at 1 pm. Malloy is the author of Tornado Dreams: A Memoir and creator of The Burning Hearth Blog.
Sally Collins’ debut novel, Muddled Cherries, is a coming-of-age story set primarily on the Door Peninsula. The novel is inspired by Collins’ many years in the service industry. Collins’ writing has appeared regularly in the Peninsula Pulse and Door County Living. She will read and discuss her novel on Tuesday, August 13, 5:30 pm.
A timely novella ripped from today’s headlines, Who Will Rescue Us?: A Love Story is author Judy DuCharme’s tenth book. A young couple working at a hotel hatch a plan to rescue young girls who are being trafficked. A former teacher at Gibraltar schools for twenty-two years, DuCharme is the author of Lainey of the Door Islands and Cheesehead Devotional, among other titles.
