Baileys Harbor, Wis. (November 3, 2020) – 2020 was quite a year. The Baileys Harbor Community Association usually picks their Volunteer of the Year based on event volunteering and much more. With all of their event cancelations this year, the Board had to take a different approach.
After considering everything that became so important during the pandemic, a few names came to the top of the list. After careful consideration, the Board decided to nominate Karen Berndt for their 2020 Volunteer of the Year.
Karen has dedicated her life to the community. She works tirelessly running her restaurant, serving on the BHCA Board, and, most importantly, as an ER nurse. Her background proved crucial over the last year with all challenges it brought. She collaborated with the Covid Task Force during this pandemic to help businesses safely reopen.
The Board thanks her for her many years of service! If you see Karen or have her contact information, please send her your kind words. She helped keep our entire county safe with her knowledge of the restaurant and medical fields.
Thank you Karen! We’re so thankful to have you in our community.
