Be You, Be Beauty

Formerly Christine’s in downtown Egg Harbor, the new Be Beauty is a beautiful addition to town. Not knowing what to expect – beauty products, clothing, jewelry? – I walked up the path to the front porch of the shop. The first thing I noticed before entering the shop was the ultimate showstopper – a selfie throne. Genius! The giant velvet throne was even adorned with tiaras to wear for the perfect glamorous selfie.

As I stepped into the shop, several customers were browsing around and many were being helped at the counter. Not wanting to interrupt the women working behind the counter, I quietly walked around the shop and took in all the beauty. Colorful carves, unique watches, purses and clutches of all sizes, gorgeous jewelry, trendy sunglasses, and gifts filled the store.

Once there was a lull in customers, I quickly introduced myself to the owners of the shop and got to talking with them. Kate Peterson and Sarah Sanger are long-time friends; Kate is from Door County, Sarah from Milwaukee. They met years ago in college and, last year, Kate approached Sarah about opening a shop in Door County with her. Wanting to leave her corporate job in the city, it was the perfect opportunity for Sarah. The two friends had to find the perfect location for a shop and began to hunt around. They eventually came across the Christine’s location, which was for sale. With a busy downtown Egg Harbor location, it was the perfect spot for them. They leased the space and the rest is history!

Sarah and Kate pride themselves by selling quality items at reasonable prices. They love to have fun at work, which in turn makes their customers have fun, too! “Our goal is to always provide an exceptional shopping experience and make every customer feel welcomed, special and appreciated. The beauty of our boutique is that you can be you, as well as find products to inspire you.” Be Beauty’s unique merchandise definitely complements both inner and outer beauty.

As far as the Selfie Throne, it has exceeded their expectations. Their goal is to be the “Home of the Selfie Throne” and it’s gone over extremely well with all customers (including men!). What a great photo op to remember your Door County vacation.
