On Saturday, October 5, at 7 p.m., Door County crowd favorites Big Mouth and The Power Tool Horns will bring their wide-ranging, high-energy music to the DCA Main Stage. Big Mouth’s performance is part of DCA’s fall series Blues, Roots, and American Stories.
Big Mouth, one of Door County’s most popular bands, is known around the peninsula and throughout Wisconsin for playing an eclectic and dance-inspiring mix of blues, jazz, and rock. Almost forty years after the band was founded in Michigan by guitarist Jay Whitney, Big Mouth is still going strong, now featuring a horn section, The Power Tool Horns.
The Peninsula Pulse writes, “[Big Mouth] will continue to transcend generations, as they’ve always done … keeping audiences happy.”
At DCA, Big Mouth will be joined by longtime associate Woody Mankowski on vocals, saxophone, clarinet, and flute. Together, this powerhouse group will play selections from the classic album “Ray Sings, Basie Swings,” songs from Big Mouth’s newest recording “The Look,” and other blues favorites.
Big Mouth’s performance is made possible with support from supporting sponsors The Cordon Family Foundation, Ecology Sports and Base Camp Coffee Bar, and Fish Creek Grill.
The show begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 5. Tickets range from $20 to $38.
