Fish Creek, Wis. (June 25, 2021) – On Friday, July 2 at 8 p.m., The Special Consensus will bring a rollicking night of bluegrass to the DCA Main Stage.
A bluegrass quartet with a sound as shiny as a newly minted penny. Respectful of tradition but never dull, The Special Consensus approaches the hallowed American bluegrass landscape with aesthetic reverence and boundless energy.
The Chicago Tribune raves, “Yes, Special Consensus may be Chicago’s very own veteran bluegrass band, but talent like this is the property of the world.”
Led by Greg Cahill, banjo player and recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), The Special Consensus has received six awards from the IBMA and two Grammy nominations, including one in 2020 for their album Chicago Barn Dance. Cahill, Greg Blake (guitar), Dan Eubanks (bass), and Nate Burie (mandolin) do bluegrass right, exploring new territory without ever straying too far from their roots.
The Special Consensus’s performance is made possible with support from Kocourek Auto.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 2. All tickets are $30. DCA is operating at a socially distanced 25% capacity.
