Fish Creek, Wis. (June 16, 2023) – On Monday, June 26, at 8 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present Nashville-based, Oregon-born songwriter Mat Kearney along with special guest Marc Scibilia.
Mat Kearney’s catchy, mellow compositions and deft blending of hip-hop and folk have made him a live favorite and adult contemporary mainstay throughout the U.S. Since emerging in 2004 with Bullet, Kearney has released five studio LPs, claimed the #1 spot on iTunes, topped multiple Billboard charts, appeared on Ellen and The Tonight Show, and toured with John Mayer and Sheryl Crow. In 2021, Kearney brought all of his varied influences together on the rootsy January Flower, an honest, stripped-down collection of songs that is at once deeply vulnerable and brightly joyful.
Allmusic raved that Kearney writes “incredibly hooky songs…buoyant, restorative.”
Marc Scibilia will open the show. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, songwriter Scibilia has been on a steady rise ever since the 2012 release of his breakout single, “How Bad We Need Each Other.” In the last several years, he’s racked up more than 125 million streams across platforms; scored the most Shazamed moment of the 2015 Super Bowl with his stripped-down take on “This Land Is Your Land,” and seen his music featured in a slew of film and television soundtracks.
Mat Kearney’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsors 106.9 The Lodge, Peninsula Pulse, and Wild Tomato, as well as supporting sponsor WPR.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 26. Tickets range from $29 to $49. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
