Cana Island Lighthouse Reopened Friday, August 12

September 6, 2022 by Laurel Ciohon

Baileys Harbor, Wis. (September 6, 2022) – We are excited to announce that the Phase 4 restoration work at Cana Island is nearly complete and the lighthouse tower and keeper’s quarters reopened to the public starting on Friday, August 12 at 10am.

Be among the first to see the magnificent restoration of the keeper’s quarters, and to climb the newly repainted 97 steps to the top of Door County’s most iconic lighthouse.

This project fulfills the goals of the Cana Island Light Station Historic Structures Report, published in September 2009, and will help to preserve public access to Cana Island for many future generations.

$12/person for adults, $10 for youth (5-17). Children age 4 and under are free, as are active military members and their immediate family (up to five members). DCMM Members also receive free admission to all museum properties.

Cana Island is open daily for the remainder of the 2022 season, 10am-5pm, through October 31.
