Express your creativity in an uncommon medium – ICE! The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center is seeking beginner, intermediate and advanced ice carvers for the 20th Annual Fire and Ice Festival on Saturday, February 17.
Ice carvers compete for CASH PRIZES, and begin carving at 9 a.m. in various locations throughout Sturgeon Bay. A panel of volunteers will judge all ice carvings beginning at 2 p.m. The award ceremony begins at 3 p.m. in the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center (36 S. Third Ave.). Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded by carving experience level.
Individuals and/or teams are encouraged to participate. Participation is FREE and carving experience is not necessary for beginner level. All carving levels may use power tools; beginners may use basic power tools, such as hair dryers, heat guns, or drills. (Anyone under 18 years must have parental supervision). Hand carving tools are available for use from the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center for a $10 refundable deposit.
