Brussels, Wis. (July 31, 2025) — The Belgian Heritage Center (BHC) invites the community to experience the rich traditions of Belgian-American culture at the 2025 BHC Kermiss on Sunday, August 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Held on the scenic BHC grounds in Brussels at 1225 County DK, this annual celebration brings together locals and visitors for a day filled with Belgian fellowship, delicious traditional food, and lively entertainment. Guests can enjoy authentic Belgian favorites such as homemade booyah, trippe, jutt, Belgian pies, tortes, and more.
The 2025 Kermiss celebration also features:
- Live music by The Shy Guys from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Antique farm equipment displays and demonstrations
- Local craft beer from Thumb Knuckle Brewing Company and Noble Roots Brewing Company
- Activities for kids including two activity tents with games, face painting, and a hands-on mosaic workshop—fun for the whole family!
- Tours of the historic schoolhouse/convent, offering a closer look at this beautifully restored piece of local heritage
- Bucket Raffles with nearly 100 prizes including gift baskets, local goods, event tickets, beer, wine, cheese, and one-of-a-kind items
- Silent Auction featuring a wide mix of high-end and budget-friendly items such as local sports memorabilia, custom art, themed gift baskets, and home décor
- Mystery Treasure Safe Raffle—a returning favorite! Buy a $10 ticket for a chance to win a Winchester 20+ Gun Fire Safe filled with over $1,000 in firearms, jewelry, gift certificates, and other high-value surprises. About the Belgian Heritage Center
The Belgian Heritage Center, operated by the Namur Belgian Heritage Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the Belgian heritage of northeast Wisconsin. Established in 2010 with the purchase of the former St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, the Center has since expanded to include the historic school/convent building. It serves as a cultural and educational hub, celebrating the rich legacy of the area’s early Belgian settlers.
