The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center, Kitty O’Reillys Irish Pub, and Door County Medical Center present the 26th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Come celebrate County Door by watching the St. Patrick’s Day Parade throughout the streets of Sturgeon Bay on March 16 at 11am. The 26th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade was first organized in 1993 by Clan O’Hern. Mike Taylor, John Scanlon, Brian Cofou, and Mark and Dan O’Hern came together to create this Irish celebration for all to enjoy in Sturgeon Bay. In 1998 the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center took over the event.
Cheer on over 25 parade participants in the 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade as they pass through the parade route. These parade participants are ready to do their Irish jig, dress in green, and ready to hand out all sorts of candy, beads, and goodies of all family-friendly types. Make sure to join the fun and watch the parade go by along the streets of Sturgeon Bay. The parade begins at Sawyer Park and proceeds to Oak Street, down Madison Avenue, before heading across the Oregon Street Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the parade continues onto Third Avenue and ends at the intersection of Third Avenue and Jefferson Street.
Last year, the Sturgeon Bay High School Band won best nonprofit entry, Bay Shore Outfitters won best business entry, and Selvick Marine Towing won best Irish entry. All three participants will be looking to defend their titles for another year. The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center is still accepting parade participants. There is no cost to participate. If interested in participating, please give the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center a call at (920) 743-6246 or email Vacation@sturgeonbay.net.
