Birch Creek Music Performance Center presents two holiday concerts on Saturday, December 1st. “Christmas at Birch Creek” begins with a 2:30 PM Matinee Family Concert. Symphony and Percussion Session faculty bring the spectacular sounds of brass and percussion to classic holiday songs and vocalist Cynthia Stiehl will lead the audience in carol sing-alongs. Families with children are encouraged to come to the 2:30 PM concert where Santa Claus will make a festive appearance and treats will be given to all the kids. Children ages 11 and under are admitted for FREE.
For the Evening Concert at 7:00 PM, the twinkling lights in the beautifully decorated concert hall combine with the chimes and horns and bells of favorite holiday songs such as “Joy to the Word,” “Still, Still, Still” and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Birch Creek is thrilled to have an all-faculty ensemble of musicians which includes Percussion & Steel Band Program Director Dan Moore, Percussion; Symphony Faculty members are Matt Lee, Trumpet; Dan O’Connell, Horn; Charles Schuchat, Tuba; Tom Stark, Trombone; and Kevin Wood, Trumpet. Birch Creek is pleased to have the Southern Door High School Madrigal Choir as a new addition to the evening’s concert performance. Cynthia Stiehl will return for carol sing-alongs, accompanied by Donna Russell on piano.
This concert is generously supported by our sponsors: Birch Creek Board of Trustees, Door County Medical Center, Charlotte Lukes, and Tannenbaum Holiday Shop.
