Birch Creek Music Performance Center presents two holiday concerts in Juniper Hall on Saturday, December 7. Christmas at Birch Creek begins with a 2:30pm matinee family concert at which all children ages 11 and under receive free admission. Symphony and percussion session faculty musicians bring the spectacular sounds of brass and percussion to classic holiday songs and vocalist Cynthia Stiehl will lead the audience in carol sing-alongs. Special guests, The Madrigal Singers of Southern Door High School, will perform during this matinee concert.
For the Evening Concert at 7:00pm, the twinkling lights in the beautifully decorated concert hall combine with the chimes and horns and bells of favorite holiday songs such as Joy to the Word, The Twelve Days of Christmas and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s, Messiah.
Birch Creek is thrilled to have an all-faculty ensemble of musicians for both concerts, which includes percussion and steel band faculty member, Tony Di Sanza, Symphony faculty members Matt Lee (trumpet), Charles Schuchat (tuba), Tom Stark (trombone), Kevin Wood, (trumpet), and guest artist, Renée Vogen (horn). The evening concert will also be highlighted with a performance by the Sturgeon Bay High School Choir.
These concerts are generously supported by our sponsors: Birch Creek Board of Trustees, The Cordon Family Foundation, Door County Medical Center, Charlotte Lukes, and Tannenbaum Holiday Shop.
