Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (October 11, 2024) – Recently, a comet survived its journey around the Sun, so if the skies at the horizon are clear around 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 17th, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society (DPAS) will open Astronomy Campus at 2200 Utah Street in Sturgeon Bay so the community can view C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS .
DPAS members will have small telescopes and astronomical binoculars available and a member will use a green laser pointer to help viewers locate the comet. Folks are welcome to bring their own scopes and binoculars. The program is free and open to the public.
