Fish Creek, Wis. (November 15, 2024) – On Saturday, November 30, at 7 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present Door County-based, cult favorite band Ketchup as they play their own unique version of a holiday spectacular.
Ketchup has made a name for themselves in Door County for—among other appearances—their swinging late-night sessions at Hill Street in downtown Fish Creek. In this rare early evening appearance, Ketchup (Paul Taylor on guitar, Shepley Frater on bass, Adam Cain on drums, and Solomon Lindenberg on organ) will reimagine and celebrate Booker T. & the M.G.s’ iconic album In the Christmas Spirit, along with other soul classics from the holidays and beyond.
DCA Executive Director Cari Lewis says, “Listening to one of Ketchup’s now-famous late-night sets at Hill Street, I find myself closing my eyes, deeply listening, sometimes dancing, and then pinching myself because I’m in Fish Creek—not a New York or Chicago club.”
Ketchup’s concert kicks off the holiday season at DCA, as Bridenhagen Tree & Landscape donates what is believed to be the 32nd tree in DCA’s 33-year history. The tree is adorned with paper decorations made years ago by Mrs. Thomas’ kindergarteners and hung with care by DCA Technical Director Kurt Thomas (Mrs. T.’s husband). DCA is also a drop site for Door County Toys for Kids, the local arm of Toys for Tots.
Ketchup’s concert is made possible with support from supporting sponsors Richard and Barbara Board.
The show begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 30. Tickets cost $25. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
