Fish Creek, Wis. (September 1, 2023) – On Sunday, September 10, at 8 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present Blues Hall of Fame musician Robert Cray.
With five Grammy wins and more than 20 acclaimed studio albums, Robert Cray has been blurring the lines between roots, blues, soul, and R&B for the past four decades. On his latest album That’s What I Heard, Cray celebrates the music of Curtis Mayfield, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and The Sensational Nightingales (with a few of his own songs mixed in for good measure).
Rock & Blues Muse calls Cray “funky, cool, and full of life.”
Growing up in the Northwest United States, Robert Cray listened to the gospel of the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi, Bobby Bland’s soul, Jimi Hendrix’s rock guitar and the Beatles’ pop sounds. He brings all those influences into play in his current work, leading Guitar Player Magazine to rave, “Robert Cray is not only making music, he’s making history.”
Robert Cray’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsor Peninsula Pulse and supporting sponsors Five Star Landscape, LLC; Nathan Nichols & Company, Inc.; The Parkwood Lodge; and Bill and Karen Reifsnyder.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 10. Tickets range from $39 to $69. There is also a premium merchandise and ticket package available for $143.80. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
