Fish Creek, Wis. (June 14, 2022) – On Wednesday, June 22, at 8 p.m., New Orleans legends Preservation Hall Jazz Band will return to Door Community Auditorium (DCA) by popular demand.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band (PHJB) has held the torch of New Orleans music aloft for more than 50 years, creating music that exemplifies the Crescent City’s inimitable spirit and joie de vivre. The Guardian calls PHJB “loud, funky and brash—it’s enough to blow the roof off the old place.”
On their most recent release, So It Is, PHJB redefines what New Orleans music means today by tapping into a sonic continuum that stretches back to the city’s Afro-Cuban roots and forward to cutting-edge artists like Stevie Wonder and the Black Keys. Today, this seven-piece band has members whose ages span nearly 60 years, fully embodying their mission: to pass on a joyful musical tradition while continually revitalizing it with new blood and fresh ideas.
Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsor The Fireside Restaurant and supporting sponsors The Cordon Family Foundation, The Ginger House, Green Bay 7 Up Bottling Company, Parkwood Lodge, and WPR.
The show begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22. Tickets range from $55 to $75. Visit the DCA website for more information about current Covid protocols. Advance tickets are recommended and can be made through the DCA box office, located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
