Fish Creek, WIs. (January 7, 2025) – Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will kick off its 2026 winter season on Saturday, January 24 with two events: a 10 a.m. “Door County Talks” lecture about social connection and “blue zones” by human development and relationship educator Paul Salm; and an evening Coffeehouse Concert by songwriting team Rob Roy Campbell and Vinni Hancock at 7 p.m. Sevastopol student Rowan Cooley will play an opening set before the evening performance.

Door County Talks: Social Connection with Paul Salm

Paul Salm’s 10 a.m. lecture will be the first 2026 installment of DCA’s annual “Door County Talks” series. The entire 2026 series, which is sponsored by Cynthia and Tom LaConte, explores the concept of “blue zones,” a term referring to regions in the world where people live to or beyond age 100 with few of the degenerative aging diseases prevalent in many parts of the world. Attendees are encouraged but not required to watch the Netflix series, Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones, before attending the events.

Paul Salm is the Human Development and Relationship Educator for the UW-Madison Division of Extension, Door County Office’s. He is also a former teacher and owns Cornerstone Pub. In his work with UW-Madison, Salm focuses on lifespan with an emphasis on the county’s aging population and on health and well-being. At DCA his talk will focus on social connection.

All Door County Talks begin at 10:00 a.m. Lectures are free to the public; freewill donations are encouraged. Coffee and blue zone-friendly bakery will be available for purchase. Each talk will include a short break, a post-talk question-and-answer session with the speaker, and a chance to meet and reconnect with the year-round Door County friends and neighbors.

Coffeehouse Concert: Rob Roy Campbell with Vinni Hancock; Opening Set by Rowan Cooley

At 7 p.m., also in the DCA lobby, Rob Roy Campbell and Vinni Hancock will perform the first Coffeehouse Concert of this season. These concerts show off the cozy intimacy of the DCA lobby and feature some of the best musical talent Door County has to offer.

Rob Roy Campbell is a multi-instrumentalist musician and audio engineer from Chicago. He writes, records, and performs original music under his own name, and designs and manufactures professional audio equipment under the name Electronaut. He relocated to Door County in 2020, and in 2024 began a songwriting collaboration with local artist, writer, and educator Vinni Hancock that culminated in a 2025 double album called Razzle Days.

As part of this year’s Coffeehouse Concert series, each show will feature a Door County student opening act. On January 24, Sevastopol 8th grader Rowan Cooley will open.

All Coffeehouse Concerts take place at 7:00 p.m. in the DCA Fireside lobby. Tickets are $20 each and advance reservations are strongly suggested. Coffee and bakery will be available for purchase from Happy Coffee, also the sponsor of the Coffeehouse series.

DCA is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person, on the phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
