Fish Creek, Wis. (July 5, 2022) – On Tuesday, July 12, at 8 p.m., rootsy soul duo The War and Treaty will perform on the Door Community Auditorium (DCA) Main Stage. West Virginia-born singer Christian Lopez will open the show.
Since forming in 2014, The War and Treaty have amassed a following as eclectic as their sound itself, a bluesy but joyful fusion of Southern soul, gospel, country, and rock-and-roll. Known for live shows that are revival-like in their intensity, the husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter, Jr., and Tanya Blount-Trotter create an exhilarating exchange of energy with their audience, a dynamic they’ve brought to the stage in opening for the legendary Al Green and touring with the likes of Brandi Carlile and Jason Isbell. On their latest album, Hearts Town, The War and Treaty unfailingly harness the thrilling vitality of their live set, spotlighting their heart-on-sleeve storytelling with greater impact than ever before.
Folk Alley wrote that The War and Treaty play with “unbridled passion and torrid energy, never letting up, but spiraling higher and higher with a soul-searing musical power.”
Christian Lopez will open the show. CMT has called Lopez, “A West Virginia native who’s already made inroads in Americana and roots music, Lopez continues to explore his vast musical influences while staying true to his singer-songwriter roots. He’s no slouch as a guitarist either.”
The War and Treaty’s performance is made possible with support from presenting sponsor Beth Healy & Mike Fordney, as well as major sponsor Door County Pulse.
