Fish Creek, Wis. (August 2, 2022) – On Sunday, August 7, at 8 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will present trailblazing songwriter Ani DiFranco for the first time on its Main Stage. The show will also feature special guests The Righteous Babes: Gracie and Rachel, Zoe Boekbinder, and Jocelyn Mackenzie.
Among Ani DiFranco’s many gifts is a rare ability to give voice to our deepest frustrations and tensions, on both a personal and political level. Couple that with her instrumental virtuosity, kinetic vocals, and unparalleled onstage charisma, and you’ve got a performer the Washington Post calls “the greatest folk-rocker of her generation.”
The New York Times called DiFranco “a fiercely independent folk singer in punk clothing, a writer of feminist anthems, protest songs and clear-eyed explorations of the messy side of love.”
DiFranco’s most recent album, Revolutionary Love, is the luminous 22nd album of her storied career, which has seen her collaborate with everyone from Prince to Pete Seeger. Three decades into her historic, rule-breaking career, DiFranco is as joyful and transcendent as she has ever been.
Also featured August 7 will be The Righteous Babes: Gracie and Rachel, Zoe Boekbinder, and Jocelyn Mackenzie. These artists unite for a special ensemble performance collaborating on one another’s songs arranged specifically for this tour with Ani DiFranco and will make guest appearances in her set.
DiFranco’s performance is made possible with support from major sponsors 106.9 The Lodge, Door County Pulse, and The White Gull Inn, as well as supporting sponsors Carrie and Taylor Goettelman and Parkwood Lodge.
