Fish Creek, Wis. (March 23, 2026) – On Sunday, March 29, at 7 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will host an evening of music called “Women of Americana: A Celebration of American Music – from Bob Dylan to Bonnie Raitt.”
“Women of Americana” brings together some of today’s most accomplished and expressive female artists for an exuberant exploration of this expansive and singular American genre. Together, vocalists and instrumentalists Cristina Vane and Brennen Leigh will interpret iconic songs, including “This Land Is Your Land” (Woody Guthrie), “This Train” (Sister Rosetta Tharpe), “Just Like a Woman” (Bob Dylan), “Angel from Montgomery” (Bonnie Raitt and John Prine), and “Car Wheels on a Gravel Road” (Lucinda Williams). Coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding, “Women of Americana” will entertain and inspire audiences at a historic moment in our nation’s history.
The DCA Program Committee says, “Following the high-caliber ‘We Shall Overcome,’ ‘Pioneering Women of Jazz,’ and ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ performances, we’re excited to bring another new, original production from IMG artists celebrating our American musical heritage.”
“Women of Americana,” both the public performance and a student matinee performance, is made possible with funding from DCA’s Passport Program sponsors, including major sponsors Landmark Resort, Peninsula Pulse, Dörr Hotel; supporting sponsors Cramer Family Fund, Wild Tomato, and Wisconsin Public Radio; and partners The Alexander Family, Alexander’s Restaurant, Bermas & Branstetter, Natalie Conrardy, The Cordon Family Foundation, Door County Eye Associates, Ellison Inn & Lounge, Grasse’s Grill, kindgoods, Liberty Lodge at Sister Bay, Red Putter, Sister Bay Suds, Tom and Barbara Thurman, The White Gull Inn, and Wood Rabbit Acupuncture.
