Fish Creek, Wis. (January 30, 2023) – On Saturday, February 4, at 7 p.m., Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will offer the second installment of its new “Let’s Play” series: a free community singalong led by three Door County songleaders: Cheryl Pfister, Deirdre Fellner, and Avery Burns.
This community singalong will be an evening of favorite songs sung with friends and neighbors. Special song requests can be emailed in advance to Priscilla at marketing@dcauditorium.org. The lyrics of all songs will be projected on a screen so that everyone can sing together.
“Our new ‘Let’s Play’ series grew out of thoughts and conversations about loneliness and connection,” said DCA executive director Cari Lewis. “We want to revive and renew our shared sense of community after the many challenges of the past three years. Playfulness, singing, dancing: these are simple things with big benefits. Singing, especially, is something than you can do if you are 5 or 105. And it’s one of the most fun things you can do that is good for your heart and mind. The temptation to stay tucked in and binge watch a series is so alluring, but my money is on people leaving here smiling and feeling lighter and more peaceful after singing with others. Your television programs will be there waiting. Come sing!”
The community singalong will be free to the public. Donations are encouraged.
DCA is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. The box office is open Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m, and can also be reached on the phone at (920) 868-2728 or online at dcauditorium.org.
