Sister Bay, Wis. (October 6, 2025) — On Friday, October 10th, Michelle Lawrie, Executive Director of the Door County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC), will be making headlines—and climbing heights—for a good cause. Lawrie will spend part of the day on the roof of Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant in Sister Bay to help raise $5,000 for the United Way of Door County. Lawrie currently serves as the Board President for United Way of Door County
In addition to Lawrie’s rooftop challenge, community members are invited to stop by the United Way donation tent at Stabbur Beer Garden, right next door to Al Johnson’s, anytime from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Volunteers will be collecting donations, sharing information about United Way’s impact, and celebrating community generosity.
“Raise the Roof” — and Raise Support
This fun and memorable event has a clear goal: to raise $5,000 to support vital services that benefit Door County residents of all ages. Funds raised from this event will go towards United Way’s annual campaign goal of raising $1,200,000 by the end of the year. Every dollar makes a difference.
