Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (April 8 2024) – Everyone is invited to the Door County Historical Society’s April Dinner Program, as part of their ongoing mission to bring local history and culture to life in a memorable dining experience. The program will take place on April 22 at Al Johnson’s Restaurant located in Sister Bay, featuring a traditional Swedish meal followed by an engaging program about the Little Sister Barn project.
Jill Lhost and John Lijewski will enlighten attendees about the history of and vision for repurposing the Little Sister Barn, formerly located at Little Sister Resort in Sister Bay. In March 2022, the 100+ year-old barn was moved to its new permanent location at Corner of the Past Museum which is the Sister Bay Historical Society property on Highway 57 at the south edge of Sister Bay.
Jill and John will share information on the current new construction that has begun and how the plans for the interior are envisioned. Operating under the guiding principle of “Preserve the Past. Enrich the Future,” the Sister Bay Historical Society has repurposed this historic barn to honor the region’s heritage while creating opportunities for the future. Delve deeper into these ongoing endeavors at the Corner of the Past Museum grounds, all while relishing a delightful dinner.
