Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (April 20, 2020) – The new Door County Maritime Museum online Store is now open and available for anyone wanting to make a purchase. All purchases made through the online store support the mission and programming of the Museum.
The online Museum Store features a variety of carefully curated items inspired by Door County’s rich maritime history, lighthouses and museum locations. Featured Collections in the online Museum Store include Books, Art Activities, Apparel, Puzzles, and DCMM Exclusives.
The Museum Store has craft activities for all ages to do while staying Safer at Home. Other online items include a variety of books to read, from lessons on knot tying and reading water, history about the Edmund Fitzgerald, and DVDs about lighthouses and shipwrecks. Anyone needing a puzzle challenge will have several options to choose from, including a Great Lakes Nautical Chart puzzle – all that grey could take awhile. Shoppers can buy Door County apparel now, in anticipation of wearing it upon their return to the Peninsula. DCMM Exclusives include enamel pins, Museum patches, and kids’ sailor hats. New items will continue to be added to the online store, and items from the Museum retail shops can also be special ordered.
All store sales support the mission and programming of the Door County Maritime Museum, and will help fill the financial loss the Museum is experiencing while our doors are closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As our community adjusts to a “new normal” during the pandemic, the Door County Maritime Museum staff are striving to continue to fulfill our mission to preserve and celebrate the rich maritime history of Door County and the Great Lakes. We are working to continue to educate and engage our community, and we need community support in return.
