Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (July 16, 2020) – The Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM) is hosting a Boathouse Sidewalk Sale on Thursday and Friday, July 30-31, 10am-4pm, and Saturday, August 1, 10am-1pm.
The Boathouse Sidewalk Sale coincides with Destination Sturgeon Bay’s Sidewalk Sales July 30, and will feature a variety of nautical, marine and maritime items, all donated to the Museum for resale. Tents will be set-up in the Museum/Skipper Bud’s parking lot along 120 North Madison Avenue, across the street from Bayshore Outfitters, who will have a sale of their own.
Items for sale will be a mix of practical and decorative goods, and a selection of merchandise from the Maritime Museum store. Featured items include a 1930s “Old Town” vintage wooden canoe, an unfinished Swift Solo sailing skiff, and an almost-finished Good Little Skiff sailing skiff donated by master woodworker Michael Doerr.
All proceeds from the Boathouse Sidewalk Sale support the Museum’s operations and educational outreach programs.
Stop by at lunchtime and enjoy a famous J&M Fisheries whitefish sandwich, cooked by Gills Rock fishermen & DCMM Board members Mark Weborg and Jim Springer. Whitefish sandwiches will be available for purchase both Thursday and Friday, 11am until sell out (they always sell out!).
The Ranly Maritime Gallery will have maritime artwork and models for sale as well.
