Sister Bay, Wis. (November 17, 2022) — Hunter’s widows are invited to attend the annual Does at The Dörr weekend getaway. “During hunting season, the spouse of the hunter is often left alone while their partner disappears for long stretches of time, and they are temporarily “widowed,” which is how the term hunter’s widow got coined,” said Ann Devillers, Director of Events. “We thought it would be fun to give these women their own little getaway, so we held our first Does at The Dorr weekend last year. The ladies had a ton of fun on making new friends and memories instead of sitting home alone waiting for a glimpse of their busy hunting spouse. The guests had such a wonderful time that we knew we wanted to do it again.”
This two-night package includes the hunter’s widows hotel room as well as an itinerary of fun excursions throughout Door County.
FRIDAY NIGHT:
*Check-In – Enjoy two complimentary drink tokens to use at the lobby bar
*6pm-8pm – A private shopping excursion to On Deck, Spot and Space
SATURDAY
*9:15am-3pm Door County Trolley Tour – Wine, Spirits, and Brew Tour
Guests will experience tastings at a Door County winery, distillery and micro brewery on this wonderful Wine, Spirits & Brew Tour. Top it off with a fabulous, chef inspired lunch with dessert. You will leave the lobby at 9:30am and be transported to the trolley and returned back to the hotel at 3:30pm.
*Dinner on your own: You’re just a short walk from some of Sister Bay’s favorite restaurants, including Chop Restaurant, Sister Bay Bowl or Husby’s
*After dinner, grab a bottle of wine and sit out by the firepit in the all-weather domes

The Dorr Hotel opened in 2021, and by melding modern style with local heritage features, they have created a year-round Nordic hotel experience in the heart of Sister Bay.
