Fish Creek, Wis. (October 1, 2025) – On Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m., Destination Door County, Travel Wisconsin, and Door Community Auditorium team up to present the Door County public premiere screening of A Cherry Pie Christmas, a film shot entirely in Door County. Holiday festivities will begin in the lobby at 6 p.m. with caroling, ugly and festive sweaters, and cherry pie on the evening’s menu. The film’s producer, members of the cast and crew, and locals involved with the filming will be in attendance.
Due to the excitement for the screening, a Sunday, December 14, 1 p.m. matinee has also been added.
A Cherry Pie Christmas, which wrapped principal filming on April 11, is set during the Christmas season with Door County as the setting, featuring several local faces, as well as communities, venues and businesses known for their appeal during the holidays. Starring Katie Leclerc (Switched at Birth, A Very Vermont Christmas) and Ryan Carnes (General Hospital, Desperate Housewives), the film tells the story of an ambitious pastry chef who returns to her small-town roots in Door County, and, over the holidays, needs to decide between her career dreams and her family’s struggling orchard business.
The movie is written and directed by John Stimpson (H9 Films), who worked with Leclerc on several other recent holiday romantic comedies, including A Very Vermont Christmas, Letters to Santa and A Cape Cod Christmas. Producers include Mark Donadio and Miriam Marcus of Moody Independent as well as Staci Griesbach, a Wisconsin native, and Leclerc.
The screening is a free but ticketed event with reserved seating. Door Community Auditorium is hosting the event to raise awareness for the home stretch of their effort to build and fund their new program center, smaller venue, and gathering hall directly across Highway 42 from the auditorium. Freewill donations will be gladly accepted. Fundraising Chair, Beth Healy, is excited and says, “It will be a fun way to ‘put a cherry on top’ of this meaningful community project.”
Tickets are available beginning Friday, September 26 at 12 p.m. central by contacting the box office in person at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek, Monday-Friday, 12-5 p.m. by phone at (920) 868-2728, or online at www.dcauditorium.org.
