Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (March 15, 2024) – Door County Boardwalk, a new multi-entertainment and event center located in the heart of downtown Sturgeon Bay, has opened its doors at 1023 Egg Harbor Rd. Co-owner Steve Estes said the goal of the new business is to be a local focal point for year-round indoor leisure, recreation, dining, and community engagement.
Utilizing the 21,000 sq. ft. building that formerly housed Palmer Johnson and Pamida along with an additional 14,000 sq. ft. building, the new entertainment destination features Door County Sandbox (indoor golf, axe throwing, and a lively bar and restaurant), Door County Gala (a well-equipped space for weddings, music concerts, and other events), and Virlee Gunworks Shooting Center (indoor shooting range and retail store).
Door County Sandbox features a full bar and restaurant serving burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads and a variety of daily specials. The Sandbox features six indoor axe throwing lanes with digital interactive games and personalized scoring. The venue also includes indoor golf and multi-sport simulators that offer beginning and advanced golfers the perfect space to hone their skill sets.
Door County Gala has been designed as a premier local spot to host weddings, corporate events, live performances and other events. Offering sophisticated and newly crafted indoor spaces, the Gala facility covers 10,800 sq. ft. The expansive layout boasts 16 ft. ceilings, an elegant 47 ft. bar, an outdoor patio and diverse areas to cater to every facet of a private event. Door County Gala’s stage, lighting and sound system offers the community a place to experience year-round concerts and entertainment. Co-owner Steve Estes noted that every detail has been meticulously crafted to ensure every event is one that guests will never forget.

Door County Boardwalk first opened its doors on December 14, 2023 and has already been drawing a steady crowd who are enjoying a place to hang out and have fun on cold Door County winter days.
