Door County, Wis. (September 20, 2022) – The Door County Coastal Byway – a National and Wisconsin Scenic Byway, has announced the release of its enhanced, smartphone-compatible website (www.doorcountycoastalbyway.org).
The Door Byway showcases breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, the Bay of Green Bay, the Niagara Escarpment bluffs and quaint shore-side towns and villages. Three state parks, ten county parks, municipal parks, beaches, hiking/biking trails, scenic vistas and natural wonders are all within this 66-mile scenic loop.
The website now highlights a section/tab, “Explore the Door,” to make it easy as possible for visitors to learn and access all these natural and recreational wonders. For the 70+ places of interest, there is a photo, description, and map. Visitors can search by category (parks, beaches, trails, scenic vistas or natural wonders) or by community.
The Door County Coastal Byway website also links to coastal communities and the County’s premiere travel site, DoorCounty.com (managed by Destination Door County).
Ann Miller, Door County Coastal Byway chairperson, noted the new website took almost a full year to design and launch. The organization has extended its gratitude to all local, county and state governments, said Miller, as well as the various non-profit and private partners/agencies who participated, for their technical, photographic, and mapping support during this process.
Door County Coastal Byway is a volunteer organization with no staff, and Miller said they could not have done this major web upgrade without the technical and financial support of its our many partners and supporters.
