Door County Cooperative Owners Receive Cash Dividends

May 15, 2020 by Laurel Ciohon

Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (May 15, 2020) – In accordance with the current Governors order, the Door County Cooperative has made the difficult decision to cancel its annual June customer appreciation event in Sturgeon Bay.  For the first time in the history of the Cooperative, on June 23, 2020 at 5pm they will be conducting the 80th annual Shareholders Meeting in a live stream format.

On May 15, the Cooperative began the mailing of over 3,350 patronage dividend checks to members that supported in Co-op in 2019. The distribution of over $225,000.00 is equivalent to a 2.9% refund on qualifying member purchases.

In just the past 15 years, supporters of the Door County Cooperative have received over $3.6 million in cash dividends, while accruing over $4.5 million of stock ownership.

Members receiving dividend checks will also be supplied with a copy of the minutes of the 79th annual meeting, voting ballots and a self-addressed stamped envelope to allow them to participate in the governance of their Cooperative.

Members are encouraged to complete their ballots and return them to the Co-op by June 15. All voting ballots received will also be entered into a drawing for door prizes, which will include a grand prize of a $500 Door County Cooperative gift card.

For more information regarding the 80th annual shareholders meeting, please visit the Door County Cooperative’s Facebook and website.

This year the Door County Cooperative is proud to be celebrating 81 years in business thanks to the support of its owners. The Door County Cooperative continues to work hard to earn the support of the community by providing products and services that meet local needs, while creating value in the communities they serve.

Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to become a Door County Cooperative owner and receive these patronage dividend payouts if they patronize any of the Door County Cooperative divisions. Membership is free and open to everyone.
