The Door County Fire Chiefs Association (DCFCA) announced today that the group has been quietly working to develop a program that can assist with the non-emergent needs of the entire Door County community during the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result of these efforts, the Door County Emergency Support Coalition (DCESC) is now urgently seeking community volunteers to fill numerous positions for all days and shifts. Examples of volunteer roles needed are:
• Call takers
• Drivers
• Shoppers
• Follow-up calls
• Healthcare professionals to take calls
• Skilled trade experts/subject matter experts (veterinarians, electricians, plumbers, etc.) for guidance
• People fluent in other languages
All positions will be non-contact.

A statement from the Fire Chiefs and DCESC asked that the public be patient as the group grows its resources to meet the demand and noted that a prolonged need is anticipated with many challenges along the way.
